Mercy Kini Mobil Mewah Paling Diminati di AS

Detroit - Setelah berkuasa selama 9 bulan, dominasi Lexus di Amerika Serikat harus berakhir. Mercedes-Benz menjadi mobil mewah terlaris di AS.

Data penjualan mobil mewah bulan September 2010 seperti dikutip Autonews, Selasa (5/10/2010), Mercy naik 22 persen menjadi 20.675 unit. Angka itu cukup untuk mengalahkan BMW dan Lexus yang berada di posisi kedua dan ketiga masing-masing dengan angka 18.228 unit dan 16.948 unit.

Dan jika dihitung dari bulan Januari, penjualan Mercy mencapai 165.427 unit, Lexus 162.438 sedangkan BMW ada di angka 157.464 unit.

"Lexus selama ini menjadi pemimpin di pasar mobil mewah, dan sekarang BMW dan Mercedes menutup lubang itu dengan cepat," ujar analis industri dari IHS Automotive Joe Barker.

Ini bisa merupakan kado spesial buat Daimler yang tahun ini berulang tahun ke-125.
